With a number of sales launching late in Q1 and throughout Q2, the market is likely to witness a significant number of completions during the second half of the year. Projected total investment volumes, whilst below the strong level achieved in 2017, are likely to be ahead of the historic five year average. Demand for exposure to the sector currently reflects a broad cross-section of investor types. The traditional sector specialists, overseas capital and private equity investors, are now also competing against a number of institutional funds who are adopting increasingly acquisitive strategies within the student sector.
