UK living investment has continued its upward trajectory amid broader global challenges. Political upheaval, the war in Ukraine and rising interest rates failed to dampen rising investment, which rose to £7bn in the first half of 2022, a 8% climb on the same period last year.

Investment during the second quarter saw a sharper increase rising 22% against the same period in 2021. Some £3bn in transactions included £1.2bn in build-to-rent, £1bn in student and £0.8bn in healthcare, together funding over 15,000 homes, bringing the 2022 total to 43,000 homes, including student and care home beds.
