UK Infrastructure Bank selects Leeds’ One Embankment
JLL acquired the new bank’s head office in Leeds City Centre
The UK Infrastructure Bank (UKIB) has selected One Embankment in Leeds City Centre as its head office.
UKIB is a new government-owned policy bank launched by Chancellor Rishi Sunak, which will use a £22bn cash injection to finance projects across the nation to tackle climate change and support regional economic growth.
The bank will occupy 4,880 sq ft on the top floor of One Embankment, which is operated by flexible workspace providers incspaces. It is expected that up to 200 jobs could be created in Leeds as a result of UKIB’s arrival.
Nick Gibby from JLL’s office agency team in Leeds, said: “This is an exciting new organisation that will unlock billions of pounds of investment to help Leeds and other cities across the UK to level up while prioritising climate change and sustainability initiatives. JLL are delighted to have worked with UKIB & incspaces to deliver this project so expeditiously.”
incspaces managing director Charlie Cudworth added “We are delighted to welcome UKIB to One Embankment. This is a milestone for both the wider Leeds business community and us, and this strategic commitment by UKIB shows a real demand for a return to office life post-pandemic.
