Major Dundee office acquisition for Social Security Scotland concluded
Social Security Scotland to become the first tenant in the new central business district
Social Security Scotland has taken a 20-year lease on Dundee City Council Property, site 6, based in Dundee city centre, in a property deal concluded by JLL.
Social Security Scotland will become the first tenants in the waterfront regeneration project. With the space to now potentially employ up to 900 people in the city, the site will be one of three locations that Social Security Scotland will operate from as it continues to grow its presence in the city.
Ben Read, Head of UK tenant representation at JLL, said: “Following a rigorous shortlisting process, Social Security Scotland selected Site 6, totalling 67,000 sq ft due to its central location, directly opposite the newly refurbished train station and V+A museum. The building also had the advantage of being newly completed offering a modern and high specification design providing key operational efficiencies and meeting the agency’s long-term ambition for its stand-alone new HQ building in Dundee.”
