More than 2,500 competitors from across the real estate industry returned to Dorney Lake in Berkshire to undertake individual and team challenges at the JLL Property Triathlon and Property Swim last week. In addition to their own athletic achievements across the event the competitors raised an incredible amount of money,  over £193,000, that will help Crisis in its work to end homelessness.

Since its inaugural event in 2007 the JLL Property Triathlon, has brought people across the industry together and has raised over £2m for charity.

Sue Asprey Price, head of workplace dynamics and occupier clients at JLL, took part in the women’s relay race, she said: “The last year has highlighted why wellbeing and staying active remains so important. We are so happy to have been able to bring the property community together to have fun, challenge each other, and support our charity partners. Thank you to all of those involved for their generosity and great sportsmanship, together we’re working hard to help end homelessness in the UK.”

John Sparkes, Crisis CEO, added: "While the temporary measures brought in at the beginning of the pandemic provided some short-term relief, right now, over 200,000 people are still experiencing the worst forms of homelessness such as sleeping on our streets, sofa surfing or living in unsuitable temporary accommodation like B&Bs. Many more people are also at risk of being pushed into homelessness by financial pressures again caused by the pandemic.

"These generous donations will go towards our year-round work helping people across the UK by providing them with a range of services including support with housing, employment, training and healthcare.

"Thank you again for everything you are making possible as without your amazing support we would not be able to achieve the essential work needed to end homelessness for good."
