JLL advises Grosvenor on the sale of luxury hotel in Mayfair
Revamp of four further units on the industrial estate now getting underway
The last of the newly refurbished units on a Newport industrial estate has now been let in a deal brokered by property agents JLL.
As part of its expansion plans, leading aluminium window and door manufacturer Fentrade Limited has taken the 3,000 sq ft unit at Maesglas Industrial Estate, which will bring 10 new jobs to the area.
This means the estate is now fully let until a further four units come back onto the market after refurbishment. Work on units 14,15, 19 and 19A, which are 2,140 sq ft each, is expected to be finished in November.
Fentrade manufactures aluminum bifolds, windows and doors and chose Maesglas because of its location within easy reach of the M4, which is beneficial for distribution and recruitment, and the complimentary businesses on the estate.
JLL is the sole letting agent for the industrial estate and also manages the site, which is owned by Arundel House Estates Ltd.
Heather Lawrence, associate in industrial and logistics at JLL in Cardiff, said: "The speed with which the units have been snapped up at Maesglas demonstrates both the quality of the facilities and the health of the South Wales economy beyond Cardiff.
"We already have interest in the units currently undergoing refurbishment and anticipate that they will be let shortly after works are completed."
Chris Reeks, director for Fentrade Limited, added: "After reviewing many properties and locations we opted for Maesglas as our manufacturing base because of the great potential the area holds for us as we look to expand to meet increasing demand for aluminium windows and doors.
"We're really excited to be establishing our business here in Newport at a time of investment and regeneration in the city and the team of JLL made the whole process very easy and trouble-free for us."
Other occupiers at Maesglas Industrial Estate include Screwfix, Parcelforce, Howdens Joinery and IAC Electronic Manufacturing Services.
