JLL opens new office at 20 Water Street
JLL’s new Docklands office is one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK
This week JLL has opened its new office at 20 Water Street at Wood Wharf, E14.
Last year the global real estate adviser announced that it would relocate the teams based at 40 Bank Street, to the second and third floors at 20 Water Street, Wood Wharf. The move is part of its commitment to shape the workplace for its employees, providing a flexible and inclusive work environment underpinned by a sustainable and technologically advanced workplace that boasts great connectivity and amenities.
JLL agreed a lease with landlord Canary Wharf Group which included for the first time, on the Canary Wharf estate, a legally binding green lease clause. Both JLL and CWG have worked in partnership to improve sustainability performance and deliver exemplar certifications with BREEAM, WELL and SKA at 20 Water Street.
The green lease clause means that renewable energy will be procured for the building, ensure it is energy efficient, minimise waste and maximise recycling. JLL and Canary Wharf Group also agreed a series of performance and energy targets to enhance best practice and participate in an estate wide sustainability forum held with tenants.
Andrew O’Donnell, UK Real Estate and Workplace Director at JLL, said: “We know that our clients are looking to us to lead the way and show them how to deliver the next generation of workplaces that engages and nurtures existing and future talent. We are building on this experience in our very own new office at 20 Water Street at Wood Wharf.
“Teams from across the breadth of JLL, including our design and build company Tetris, have come together to deliver a space that incorporates sustainability, technology and wellbeing, as well as inclusivity that not only aligns to our business needs but fosters community engagement.
“The space has been imagined to centre on the value of coming into the office – chiefly the benefits that can be gained from contacts and connections – that we know don’t just benefit our people professionally but also support wellbeing.”
