JLL has appointed Wilhelm Wrede as co-living lead for the Living Capital Markets business, where he will focus on working closely with investors, developers and operators to continue stimulating growth within the sector.

Having worked at JLL for seven years in the Affordable Housing valuations team, Wilhelm brings a breadth of experience to the Capital Markets team. He has a comprehensive background in working alongside some of the UK’s biggest housing providers and banks undertaking valuations for bond issuances, private placements and annual accounts.

Wilhelm Wrede, Associate - Living Capital Markets – Coliving, JLL, said: “It is an exciting time to be joining and heading up JLL’s co-living capital markets team. Co-living provides an innovative solution to the increasing supply and financial pressures seen in the UK and Europe’s cities, as well as a demand for flexibility. The sector’s nascent form still gives it the ability to cherry pick characteristics from the more established hospitality, student and multi-family sectors to create a truly exciting investment grade product.”

Simon Scott, Lead Director - Living Capital Markets, JLL added, “Wilhelm is a great addition to the Capital Markets team, and we are delighted to welcome him. His breadth of experience in working with a wide range of housing providers, as well as his fluency in English, Swedish, Finnish and Spanish will allow us to expand JLL’s presence in the co-living sector across the Nordics and Southern Europe.”

The co-living sector is expected to play leading role in the structure of future cities, with increasing institutional investment and interest already establishing the sector as a competitive part of the broader BTR market.
