JLL Advising Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust on redevelopment strategy

July 20, 2020

JLL has today announced that it has advised Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS Trust’s in the UK, on the selection of a development partner for the ‘Triangle’, a key strategic site on its Waterloo Campus that will provide increased capacity for the existing Evelina London Children’s Hospital (ELCH).

JLL delivered a competitive tender process for the Trust with Linkcity, the development arm of Bouygues UK, being appointed as the preferred partner.

The new hospital, which will also house research and teaching facilities, will provide extra facilities, such as surgical theatres and imaging suites, for young people from across south London and south east England. The development will also lead to significant opportunities for the advancement of innovation in treatments and technologies as part of the Trust’s long-term vision.

Christopher Walters, a director in JLL’s Strategic Development Consulting and Life Sciences team, said: “The vision that Guy’s and St Thomas’ has for the Campus is ambitious and will, when complete, deliver a landmark example of urban regeneration combining healthcare, science and technology. The Triangle site is a milestone development as part of this wider estate re-development strategy, and we look forward to seeing the project come together.”

Peter Ward, director of Real Estate Development, Guy’s and St Thomas’, said: “JLL have played a critical role in our appointment of Linkcity as our preferred partner for this project. The development of this site will further cement our position as a global leader in healthcare services by providing excellent clinical facilities for the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.”

The Trust was also advised by Addleshaw Goddard – legal, GL Hearn – planning, NBBJ – architect/design and Mott Macdonald – engineering.
