D-Tech Drilling relocates to new premises at Horizon 38 in Bristol
JLL secures latest tenant at Bristol’s leading industrial park
Engineering technology firm, D-Tech Drilling has recently taken occupation of H1B at Horizon 38, a new 21,400 sq ft warehouse facility at the Filton business park. The company relocated from within the North Bristol area and we're keen to stay within the established research and development/ tech cluster in Filton. D-Tech has agreed to take a new 10 year lease.
The letting follows the recent handover of GKN’s brand new 115,000 sq ft research and development centre at Horizon 38 which fronts on to the A38.
Horizon 38 is one of the largest speculative commercial developments in the region, spanning 65 acres and features a wide range of industrial, logistics, trade, hotel and automotive occupiers. The area benefits from excellent connectivity via the A38 to Bristol city centre and the M5 at junction 16. This is in addition to the public transport links via Patchway and Bristol Parkway Train Stations and the new Metrobus route which will shortly be operational across the site.
Unit H1B comprises a self-contained detached warehouse with a 26m deep yard, and 1,400 sq ft of office space.
Henry de Teissier of JLL’s Bristol office, who acted on behalf of the landlord, said ‘’Seeing D-Tech expanding into a larger unit within the North Bristol area is a great result, especially at this challenging time we find ourselves in. Despite the current climate, D-Tech still needed to move and Horizon 38 was able to meet all of their operational needs.
“Demand in the industrial sector in the South West is still largely driven from ecommerce and logistics occupiers, but the letting to D-Tech also underpins Horizon 38 as a business park suitable for alternative occupiers in the engineering and technology sectors as well. With the imminent arrival of the new Metrobus route, Horizon 38 will enhance its connectivity further and will allow employers to easily access a diverse and skilled labour supply.’’
Horizon 38, developed by MSF Filton, is a joint venture between St Francis Group and iSec, funded by Ropemaker.
JLL and Avison Young acted on behalf of the landlord.
