With the 2020s already predicted to be the decade of net zero carbon delivery, COVID-19 has heightened our collective understanding of risk and the need for rapid action. Buildings account for 40% of emissions globally, and the real estate sector has a big responsibility to rebuild out of the coronavirus crisis with an urgent focus on reducing emissions and building resilience to climate risk.
In the fourth webinar of our UK “Respond, Recover, Reimagine” series, our expert panel below, moderated by Sophie Walker, UK Head of Sustainability, discussed how we must collectively define a vision for the new world where climate risk is managed effectively by accelerating the transition to net zero carbon and ensuring climate resilience.
Despite the pandemic, the pace of commitment to sustainable initiatives across the real estate sector continues to increase as we understand both the risks and opportunities before us to steer a course for global economic and climate stability.
