Having built leading but underutilised data centre assets in core markets, our client wanted to look at unlocking the value of each asset. The challenge was to add value and outsource the operations of the facilities in the UK and Singapore.

How we worked together

This was a challenge that needed a global outlook. So, we worked with our client and stakeholders to understand the investment goals, and consider the needs of an operational leaseback deal.

A key concern was maintaining high operating standards. Our team carried out a thorough review of the assets and undertook detailed financial modelling and looked at several leaseback and exit scenarios.

The deal that was agreed was the first global data centre transaction of its kind.


By working in collaboration, we disposed of two assets to a single operator. This enabled the client to add value and find a provider, dedicated to protecting the client’s businesses.
