The challenge
Bankside is home to 52 of Omnicom’s advertising agencies over nine floors in two buildings on London’s Southbank. Through JLL’s IFM account manager for Omnicom, Tétris Design x Build was asked to provide a proposal to create more opportunities to collaborate, a workplace promoting wellbeing at its core, and provide supportive tech solutions – making flexible working easier from the 7th floor restaurant and main break-out areas.
As a world leader in advertising, Omnicom needed an exciting, dynamic and impactful design.
The approach
The team set out to create an inspirational environment and deliver a memorable journey for staff and clients, with additional meeting space to help alleviate spatial pressures and assist with a move towards agile working.
Working very closely with the JLL facilities team and Integral who had extensive knowledge of the building as engaged to run and maintain all site mechanical and electric services, Tétris designed and built two new reception meeting areas, collaborative common areas and a new restaurant and collaboration space on the 7th floor.
Bringing it to life
The result is a distinct identity for the space, introducing more meeting areas and collaboration zones, promoting agile working environments and focussing on improving the visitor experience.
Positioning a new central café/bar hub is a game changer for the client. The centrally located facility can serve staff during the day but can be closed off for a true hospitality feel for special meetings, events, or pitches in the adjacent events library areas.
The ability of the IFM team to guide Tétris in Omnicom culture, approval process and strategic objectives for their real estate was of huge importance in making the project a success. Being able to speak with colleagues across the wider business in this team as well as Workplace, Integral and Rating created a One JLL solution as each team could add real value for Omnicom.
