New University campus to boost regeneration in Bristol
How local knowledge helped identify a new education centre and innovation space
Size
82,395 sq m
Value
£300 million
Location
Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, Bristol
The University of Bristol wanted to identify a site for a new campus that would be at the forefront of digital and management research, education, skills and innovation to supplement the existing University campus and enable its continued growth.
How we worked together
Using local knowledge and expertise, our development team carried out an extensive search to identify sites which could maintain connectivity with the existing campus and deliver the scale of development required in a location that allowed collaboration with the digital and technology centre.
The site selected next to Temple Meads Station will create an iconic education centre in the heart of the city, see the regeneration of this derelict site and act as a catalyst for the wider area around the station and the wider St. Philips area.
Resolution
Our planning team has secured outline planning permission for the £300 million, 82,395 square metre development which will provide teaching research and innovation space for 3,500 students, 800 staff and external partners, together with accommodation for 1,950 students. They are now working on securing reserved matters consent to enable the delivery of the campus for opening in September 2022.
Our development team has also identified and secured further strategic land for the University to enable the campus to expand further in the future.
