Bank Leumi (UK) plc required advice and expertise when lending £20m to a property developer proposing to construct a new student living scheme adjacent to a Grade II listed property – John Dobson House, Newcastle.

Our project management services team were instructed by Bank Leumni (UK) plc to provide Bank Monitoring services on the delivery of the 329 bed student accommodation project.

Part of the project included the refurbishment of existing Grade II listed John Dobson House, which was built and designed in 1823 as a family home. The project plans intended to keep the existing building whilst re-developing the remaining site behind.

Recognising the complexities of the project it was vital that an initial technical due diligence report was prepared by the team to assess the proposed development and advise the bank on construction, legal and financial matters.

Throughout the construction process it was crucial that our client was regularly updated on the progress of the build, the team provided monthly updates on development progress, construction timelines and project budget.  We ensured that any construction or budget issues were reported quickly and the client informed throughout the process.

Together we helped to merge the old with the new to create accommodation for the students of the future.  Bank Leumi achieved their ambition to fund a successful development project.
