What excites you about a career in sustainability?

It’s acknowledging that I'll be able to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others that might not be able to make that impact themselves.

How are you helping real estate on its net zero journey?

There are various elements of the client's journey from target-setting at a boardroom level to implementing targets to monitoring the environmental performance data. Working with our clients, it’s about understanding where assets are low in energy intensity and where they're high in energy intensity and thereby being able to make tangible improvements through doing net zero carbon audits, energy audits, and making improvements at the asset level so it transpires to a portfolio level and helps them across their decarbonization strategy.

How do you see sustainability changing the world we live in?

Policy makers are acknowledging that individual actions which occur in a certain society can have global ramifications – as demonstrated by COVID pandemic and similar to that, climate change. The understanding of that kind of impact is there. And now policy makers, business leaders and individuals in society are taking action.
