  • Olivia Drew

    Portfolio Manager, UK Life Sciences Director

    Olivia Drew is the portfolio manager for the UK Life Sciences strategy, and is the lead investment manager across the vehicle.

    She was previously a Transactions Manager for Real Estate UK (RE-UK), a business which forms part of Real Estate & Private Markets (REPM) business within UBS Asset Management (UBS-AM). Olivia also had responsibilities across the REPM business on ESG strategies, supporting the growth of the sustainable product shelf and integrating ESG policies across the platform.

    She joined UBS-AM in December 2017 as a member of the RE-UK team, providing support to several Funds and segregated mandates within the UK platform. Prior to joining UBS-AM, Olivia worked at M&G Investments (2014-2017), first as a graduate trainee, and then as an analyst specializing in long lease property funds.

    Olivia is a CFA charterholder, and also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

    Global Urbanist & Chair of Connected Places Catapult

    Greg Clark is a British & Irish writer, Board Chair, Non Exec Director, and advisor on cities, mobility, built environment, and urban innovation & leadership. He is author of 10 books and 100 reports on cities, mobility, real estate, climate, urban economies, investment, and place-leadership, and has worked with 400 cities around the world. Globally, Greg is Hon Global Fellow at the Urban Land Institute (ULI). In the UK, he is Chair of the Connected Places Catapult (CPC), the UK’s national innovation accelerator for transport, cities, and place-leadership, and Chair of the Cities Commission for Climate Investment(3Ci).

    Hugo joined Octopus Ventures in 2022, excited to put his expertise to work seeking out the biotech and life-sciences opportunities poised to revolutionise global healthcare.

    During his PhD, which focused on structural and synthetic biology, Hugo got his first experience of early stage businesses, working with accelerators, startups and entrepreneurs to turn world-changing science into pioneering business propositions.

    He joined the Octopus Ventures team from Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst, a leading incubator in the cell and gene sector, where he spent two years helping businesses innovate and grow at scale.
