The Food Store team at JLL is an integral part of the Out of Town Retail team, and has been at the forefront of the food sector in recent times. The team has a proven track record of advising landowners, UK funds, private developers, public sector clients and food retailers with a unique consultancy offer.
Over the course of the last five years the Food Store Investment team has transacted approximately £2bn of Food Store Investment transactions acting for occupiers, developers and investors. The team prides itself on having a unique in-depth understanding of how this sector works, thinks and operates, which proves pivotal in achieving the best results for our clients.
At its core is a focus on deliverability grounded in a deep understanding of the occupational and funding markets combined with strategic and creative thought.
Our experienced development team works in an advisory or project management role taking the construction of new stores from concept through to practical completion. The team specialise in the creation of structured landowner partnerships and joint ventures, site identification and assembly, feasibility and viability exercises, the master planning of existing assets, new projects, and the securing of Agreements to Lease with anchor foodstore tenants taking the project through the town planning system.
The team is able to draw upon wide ranging skills and knowledge across JLL particularly relevant to food store led mixed use schemes, the increasingly important relationship between the private and public sectors, and the demand to deliver sustainable development.
Our dedicated Lease Advisory team advise foodstore investors and some of the major occupiers in the UK. The team’s expertise includes rent reviews, lease renewals, dispute resolution and providing Expert Witness advice. Additionally we have considerable expertise in adding value with lease restructuring. We have access to the latest demographic information, space planning and research available in the market. Our in depth understanding of both investors’ and occupiers’ objectives, combined with technical expertise and market knowledge, is applied to devise solutions to mutual benefit.
