About David Bell

David has been with JLL approaching 20 years. He leads the Planning and Development team in Scotland and has particular expertise in relation to energy planning. In this time he has had a hand in some of the UK’s most significant renewable energy projects including the Whitelee Wind Farm, just south of Glasgow. Developed by Scottish Power, this is still one of UK’s largest onshore wind farms to this day. Over the years the team has advised a wide range of companies on feasibility studies and planning applications covering on and offshore wind energy, biomass, solar, transmission infrastructure and power station development (nuclear, gas and carbon capture). David has also been providing advice in recent years to the Government’s Energy Technologies Institute and Energy Systems Catapult on low carbon decentralised energy systems, building and urban area low carbon retrofit policy, and urban district heating and combined heat and power systems.
