British Triathlete Helen Jenkins edges closer to 2012 London Olympics

Jones Lang LaSalle sponsored Jenkins wins World Championship Series in London’s Hyde Park

London, 9th August 2011 Jones Lang LaSalle sponsored Olympic medal contender Helen Jenkins has won the 2011 World Championship Series in London’s Hyde Park, held on Saturday 6th August, crossing the finishing line in an impressive 2 hours and thirty four seconds and meeting Great Britain’s selection criteria for the 2012 Olympics.

The race in London’s Hyde Park served as the Olympic test event for the 67participating athletes and counted towards this year’s World Championship Series – a seven race battle for the world title.  Helen Jenkins’ third successive Hyde Park podium finish, receiving gold on Saturday, clinched her first ever World Championship Series win.

Helen Jenkins commented: “I have never been number one, always number two or three so it feels fantastic!  I just kept running and running!  It’s really special; because it is the Olympic course the crowd support is amazing.”

Richard Batten, Executive Chairman, Jones Lang LaSalle UK said: “We are extremely proud of Helen’s achievement and delighted for her.  The dedication, determination and drive which she shows in her training and the results she achieves are inspirational to all at Jones Lang LaSalle.  Achieving Great Britain’s selection criteria for the 2012 Olympics is a fantastic achievement and we are all rooting for Helen as she prepares for the Games next summer.”
