CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle join forces for charity

The big two run mini marathon for Land Aid

London, 11 October 2011 - On the 13th of October, Jones Lang LaSalle and CBRE will join forces in a mini marathon treadmill challenge in aid of the charity Land Aid. Fifteen mixed teams of five runners in seven locations across the UK will run two miles each to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

Mike Slade, President, LandAid and Chief Executive, Helical Bar commented, “I am delighted that CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle have chosen to combine their forces and come together to fundraise for LandAid Day. With their efforts and those of the many other organisations taking part we are confident of achieving our set target of £125,000. The current economic environment is exceptionally hard on disadvantaged young people, and LandAid is evermore determined to help them by supporting projects that provide buildings, training and equipment all geared towards making them confident and productive members of society.”

Martin Samworth, Managing Director, CBRE UK, said: “Land Aid is a wonderful charity that does so much to support projects that can transform the lives of the young people they help. It is great that the property industry can come together as one to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and fulfilling day.”

Richard Batten, Executive Chairman at Jones Lang LaSalle, commented that; “Land Aid is an important charity which helps the young and disadvantaged access the facilities, skills, and opportunities to achieve their potential and thrive within their local community.  We are really pleased to be working with CBRE to help raise the awareness of LandAid throughout the UK, to raise some money for a worthy cause, and to have a bit of competitive fun in the process.”
