Nando’s dishes up third restaurant for Edinburgh

Edinburgh, 11 October 2011 - Restaurant group Nando’s is set to open its third outlet in Edinburgh at the site of the former Bank of Scotland branch on 32a Chambers Street.
The casual dining restaurant group, famed for their legendary PERi-PERi chicken, has signed up with landlord Antonio Crolla, owner of Dario's on Lothian Road and Bar Napoli on Hanover Street, to take a 20 year lease on 6,426 sq ft of space in the heart of the city, at a rate of £100,000 per annum.

The Chambers Street site will be the restaurant group’s third outlet in Edinburgh, with restaurants already established on Lothian Road and in Fountain Park. Nando’s now has twelve restaurants throughout Scotland.

Simon Bashford, Senior Surveyor in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail team said: “Nando’s understands the strength of George IV Bridge as a thriving leisure destination, particularly during the Edinburgh Festival and during University term-times. Located opposite the ever popular Greyfriars Bobby statue, this restaurant is within easy reach to all. Within the broader context of Edinburgh, this letting follows the arrival of several other high profile restaurant names including Wagamama and Jamie’s Italian to Edinburgh this year, as evidence of positive sentiment in Edinburgh’s strong restaurant market.”

Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Antonio Crolla and Kenny Scott acted for Nando’s.
