Celebration in Newcastle as property advisory firm marks 10 years of success

Newcastle, 18th October 2011 - Jones Lang LaSalle’s Newcastle office recently played host to over 100 guests at a major clients’ drinks reception to celebrate 10 years of business success in the North East.

The event, which took place in The Living Gallery of the Great North Museum, attracted an array of key business people linked to the North East property market.

The office, located on Grey Street, first opened its doors in Newcastle in 2001 as part of King Sturge and, following the merger earlier this year, has now become part of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Over the last decade the firm’s Newcastle office has established itself as a leading property consultancy completing some of the largest property deals ever in the region, including the sale of the One North East property portfolio to UK Land Estates and the One North East development land portfolio to Langtree.  The Newcastle team has successfully acquired, sold or let an impressive 15 million sqft of commercial accommodation since it was first established.

Jonathan Sykes, Head of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Newcastle office, said: “By hosting this event we are not only saying thank you to all of our clients for their continued support but we are also celebrating 10 years of great success in the North East, during which we are proud to have brought multi-million pound property investments and job opportunities into the region.”

Following the merger of the two property advisory companies, the combined business has substantially increased its strength in the North East, directly benefiting clients by offering a greater range and breadth of services across all property sectors.

Jonathan concluded: “Jones Lang LaSalle is a leading global brand and through the merger it now has a far stronger market presence in the North East.  Globally, the firm operates from 70 countries and in the UK from 19 office locations with over 2,700 employees.  As part of Jones Lang LaSalle, the Newcastle team is now looking towards the future and continuing to build on our reputation we have successfully established over the next ten years.”
