Leading travel search site moves to city
Glasgow, 13 September 2013 - Leading global travel search site Skyscanner is opening a new office in Glasgow after signing a 10,860 sq ft deal in one of the city’s most prestigious office buildings.
Jones Lang LaSalle has agreed a 10-year lease at 151-155 St Vincent Street, which has space for 75 staff.
Skyscanner will occupy the fifth floor of the building in what has been called “one of only a handful of grade-A deals in the city in a year”.
Alistair Reid, of Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “Skyscanner’s expansion has been rapid, and their move to 151-155 St Vincent Street is an extremely smart one.
“The space is some of the most modern and well-designed in Glasgow after a £9m refurbishment programme concluded last year, and the building, at the heart of Glasgow’s traditional Central Business District, is in a very prestigious location.
“151-155 St Vincent Street easily connects to the city’s executive and staff amenities including coffee and sandwich bars, restaurants, bars, hotels and retail outlets. The building is also close to main-line and subway stations and bus routes, while Glasgow Airport is just a 15-minute drive away on the M8 motorway – perfect for a business as well-connected as Skyscanner.
“This is one of only a handful of grade-A deals in the city in a year, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Hermes, while Skyscanner was represented by Neil McConnachie at Eric Young & Co.
Skyscanner, which already employs more than 30 different nationalities and has global offices in Edinburgh, Singapore and Beijing, receives more than 60 million visits every month.
There is currently 62 ,750 sq ft of space remaining at 151-155 St Vincent Street with floor-plates ranging from 6,720 to 11,690 sq ft.
