Jones Lang LaSalle appoint new Building Surveyor

Newcastle, 29 February 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle’s Newcastle office has expanded its Project and Development Services team with the appointment of a new Chartered Building Surveyor.

Richard Hannen, 31, has relocated from the Leeds office of Jones Lang LaSalle to join the Newcastle team as a Senior Building Surveyor.  In his new role Richard will be carrying out various duties including dilapidations, building surveys, design and contract administration and also expanding the team’s knowledge base through his expertise in Due Diligence surveys and Dilapidations.

Richard has been brought on board due to the continued growth of instructions for the team, Martin Smith, Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle commented:  "Our Project and Development Services team in Newcastle is currently handling construction works in excess of £4 million and dilapidations claims in the region of £1.5 million, this is in addition to other Building Surveying services we are undertaking for our clients.  Due to a sustained increase in demand for our services we needed to take on an experienced Building Surveyor who could immediately assist us in continuing to provide a high level of service to our expanding portfolio of clients and Richard fits the bill perfectly."

Richard, who previously worked in Leeds, is originally from the North East and gained his BSC (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Northumbria University.
Richard commented: "I am delighted to be working back in the North East where my roots are, I already have a good knowledge of the North East market and I am looking forward to re-acquainting myself with the area."
