Jones Lang LaSalle scoops Best Investment Agency Team at Yorkshire Property Awards 2012

Leeds, 11th May 2012 - Jones Lang LaSalle has been honoured with the Best Agency team – Investment award at the the Yorkshire Property Awards 2012 organised by the Variety Club which was held at Rudding Park near Harrogate last night (10th May.)  This is the first award success for the Leeds based team since the merger of Jones Lang LaSalle with King Sturge last June.

Over the course of 2011 the team, comprising directors Andrew Summersgill and Mathew Atkinson, transacted over £105 million of commercial real estate across Yorkshire. This included the £29.1 million off market sale of Leodis Residences in Leeds on behalf of Evans Property Group, which was the second largest private treaty transaction to be completed in the city during 2011.

The award Judges were resounding in their comments saying: “The business has brought two good teams together to make one great practice. Jones Lang LaSalle know their stuff and they give good advice.”

Andrew Summersgill, director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s National Investment team in Leeds, said: “This fantastic achievement has been a real team effort over the last year and is a clear endorsement of our presence in the region. The merger with King Surge significantly strengthened not only Jones Lang LaSalle’s UK market position but also our investment capability in Yorkshire benefiting our clients by enhancing the depth of our service.

Andrew concluded: “These competitive market conditions have meant, more than ever, that to continue to achieve the best results for our clients we have to adapt and adopt new approaches. We have pursued technically demanding off-market transactions, a key highlight being the sale of Leodis Residences in Leeds.”
