New man at the helm in Nottingham

Jones Lang LaSalle announces Matthew Smith as lead director of the office

Nottingham, 2nd August 2012 –Jones Lang LaSalle has announced that Matthew Smith has been appointed lead director of its Nottingham office, taking over from Mike Hanson.

Matthew’s new role comes on the back of a strong performance in the East Midlands, assembling the E.on office prelet of 105,000 sq ft and then, working with Jones Lang LaSalle’s capital markets team in London, to secure the forward funding.  The team also advised Nottingham City Council on its acquisition of the former Capital One HQ, comprising 215,000 sq ft.

Mike Hanson, whose specialist area of expertise is Machinery & Business Assets (MBA), will now focus wholly on growing this sector of the business within Jones Lang LaSalle, one of the newest service lines, providing asset valuation, auction and disposal services across the globe.

Matthew Smith has been with Jones Lang LaSalle and formerly King Sturge which Jones Lang LaSalle merged with, for six years and is keen to lead the company forward capitalising on the global reach of the commercial real estate firm.

The Nottingham office of Jones Lang LaSalle is based in Park Row and is one of 34 offices across the UK, employing 2,700 people.
