Edinburgh, 30 September 2013 - Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited (HREIML) has leased Capital House, 2 Festival Square in Edinburgh to BNY Mellon, the global financial services company. BNY Mellon currently occupies approximately 40 per cent of the building and has agreed a new lease for the whole property at 54,600 sq ft. The company intends to relocate employees from its Blenheim Place premises to Capital House in 2014.
Ian Cody, Asset Manager, Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited, said: “Over the coming years there is a limited supply of good quality office space in Edinburgh. This is a significant office letting for Hermes in the city.”
Nick White, Cuthbert White acting on behalf of HREIML, commented: “Capital House is one of Edinburgh’s most established office buildings and, following completion of the remaining comprehensive refurbishment works, will provide BNY Mellon with high quality, Grade A accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh’s resurgent Exchange District.”
