Jones Lang LaSalle finds new address for Parcelforce

Property consultant acquires new 72,600 sq ft Liverpool depot

Liverpool, October 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle has acquired 72,600 sq ft at The Link, Huyton Business Park on behalf of the Royal Mail Group’s subsidiary, Parcelforce Worldwide.

The site, which has been secured on a 15-year lease with no break, will replace the service’s existing Liverpool delivery centre from Broadgreen.
Jones Lang LaSalle identified the development, which is owned by landlord Hansteen, after being appointed by Royal Mail Group to conduct a detailed search for its new Liverpool depot.

The Link’s substantial 2.5 acre yard and six loading doors were key factors in attracting the parcel courier to the site which it has secured for a headline rent of £3 per sq ft.
Daniel Burn, director at Jones Lang LaSalle industrial and logistics in Manchester, said: “This is a major acquisition for Royal Mail in the North West and follows their recent purchase of 15 acres at Revolution Park in Chorley where a 120,000 ft² regional distribution hub is currently being constructed.  These important instructions are examples of a number which we’re currently handling for them in the region.

“Their willingness to commit to a long-term lease enabled us to secure a very attractive package for them and reflects that in the current market both landlords and tenants are willing to work together to get deals done.”
CBRE and the Liverpool office of Jones Lang LaSalle acted on behalf of Hansteen.
