The Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 as an annual campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. The Green Apple Awards scheme was one of the first to be accredited by the RSA as an official feeder scheme into the European Business Awards for the Environment, and is still one of only a handful of accredited campaigns.
Every year, JLL encourages its managed sites who are excelling in sustainability to enter a project into the Awards. This year we saw a bumper crop of project submissions, highlighting the emphasis on sustainability that the Company is pushing. Twenty-three (24 awards) JLL managed sites, ranging from offices, shopping centres, retail parks and industrial sites, have been notified that they have won an award in this year's batch. The result of these (Gold, Silver, Bronze) will be announced at the Awards' ceremony on Monday 6th November 2017 which is being held once again at The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Palace, London.
Andries Van Der Walt, Head of Sustainability in JLL's Property and Asset Management team, stated: "23 Green Apple Awards is a fantastic achievement by the Property and Asset Management division of JLL. Fostering a culture of sustainable practices and in-line with our sustainability strategy, it is great to see our sites receiving the credit that they duly deserve. We're looking forward to receiving the awards at The Houses of Parliament on 6th November this year."
Jordan Jeffery, Head of Retail Management in JLL's Property & Asset Management team, commented: "We are delighted by the number of Green Apples awarded to JLL in respect of the shopping centres and retail parks we manage. We see Green Apples as recognition for the best in class sustainability practices we employ as part of our wider property management service."
