JLL sells Hotel La Tour in Birmingham to Dalata Hotel Group for £31million


​​​​JLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group has advised Hotel La Tour Limited on the sale of the Hotel La Tour in Birmingham City Centre for a sum of £31million to Irish hotel group Dalata Hotel Group Plc.

The four-star purpose built hotel opened in 2012 and boasts 174 bedrooms, restaurant and bar, a dedicated conference and event floor, gym and has the potential to add further bedrooms. The hotel will be located directly opposite the HS2 Curzon Street terminal due to open in 2026.

 Dalata is the largest hotel group in Ireland and successfully operate the Maldron Hotel brand and the Clayton Hotel brand throughout Ireland and the UK. The group has a current portfolio of 37 three and four star hotels with over 7,500 rooms. Hotel La Tour will be rebranded as a Clayton hotel in the final quarter of this year.

 Gavin Wright, director, JLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group said: "This transaction represents the largest hotel transaction in Birmingham this year both in terms of lot size and price per room. The Birmingham hotel sector saw its most successful year in 2016 and projects such as the proposed £50billion HS2 development are making the city an attractive place to invest".
