National loss adjuster moves to Leeds' City West and prepares for expansion

LEEDS, 23 June 2017 - National loss adjuster, Cunningham Lindsey, is the latest business to relocate to one of Leeds’ best-known out-of-town office schemes.

Cunningham Lindsey, which provides loss adjusting, claims management and risk solutions to insurers, brokers and risk managers, is leasing the entire second floor, which totals 12,582 sq ft, of air-conditioned offices at Building Two, City West office park, Gelderd Road, in a deal jointly negotiated by commercial property consultants, JLL and Carter Towler, Leeds.

A total of around 130 Cunningham Lindsey technical insurance claims adjusters, managers and administrative staff will be involved in the move as the company’s leases at its two Leeds offices in Birstall and Morley come to an end and it consolidates staff in one place.

The letting to Cunningham Lindsey, which has 18 offices around the UK, comes hot on the heels of a £1.1m refurbishment at City West Office Park carried out by owners, London-based asset management business, XLB Property, and Harbert Management Corporation (Europe) LLC which acquired the office park last year in a multi-million pound portfolio deal.

A total of 55,000 sq ft of office space was refurbished with the installation of suspended ceilings and LED lighting. There was also a remodeling of all WC accommodation and common areas.

Cunningham Lindsey real estate and project manager, Caroline Humphreys, says: “With previous office leases coming to an end, it makes sense to consolidate our resources and move into one site. We are also expanding our operations in the North East and a larger base provides the scope we need to take on more technical and support staff. Our staffing levels at Building Two, City West, will increase by more than 30 per cent before the end of the year.

“The relocation will bring our various teams of insurance claims specialists together, under one roof and on one floor. This will improve communications, reduce overheads and travel costs, as well as enable us to grow our business in this important region.

JLL director of office agency, Richard Thornton, says: “It is encouraging to have let such a large floor area to a prestigious business so soon after the completion of the refurbishment which is testament to the landlord’s confidence in investing in a considerable refurbishment of this well-known and highly-regarded office scheme.”

A total of 30,000 sq ft of office space remains available at City West which is 1:5 miles from Leeds city centre and set in a mature landscaped area with a car parking ratio of 1:250 sq ft. On-site facilities include a Premier Travel Inn.
