SGM Contracts LLP Expands Headquarters in Fife

Belleknows Industrial Estate
Edinburgh, 5 February 2013
– SGM Contracts LLP, a leading supplier of groundcare and garden machinery, has relocated from its original headquarters at Belleknowes Industrial Estate to Unit 16 on the same estate in Inverkeithing, Fife, which provides a greater workshop capacity for the company’s machinery servicing function.

SGM Contracts LLP provides machinery hire and sales as well as servicing and parts supply to groundcare and arboriculture professionals and domestic home gardeners. With an established customer base across the UK, it has depots in Gleneagles, Rotherham and Stockport, as well as its headquarters in Fife.

The business has signed a six year lease with landlord Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited (HREIML) for the 5,818 sq ft end-terrace unit, which includes offices, WCs and a kitchen. The accommodation was refurbished by HREIML prior to the commencement of the tenancy, and has been let at a rent of £28,799 per annum.

Extending to 10 acres, Belleknowes Industrial Estate comprises a total of 22 industrial units arranged in terraced rows, and is prominently located at Junction 1 on the M90 motorway, only half a mile from the Forth Road Bridge, the new Forth crossing and 12 miles north of Edinburgh. This position, sitting at the junction of the M90 and the A985, is ideally suited for access to both Edinburgh to the South, Dundee and Perth to the North and Glasgow to the West.

Jones Lang LaSalle and Ryden are joint agents for the Estate, where two further units - Unit 7 at 3,466 sq ft, and Unit 15 at 7,150 sq ft are now available to let.

Kirsty Palmer, Associate Director for Jones Lang LaSalle, commented: “We’ve seen a lot of interest in the past year from a wide range of occupiers in the units available at Belleknowes. SGM’s decision to retain its presence on the estate is testament to both the quality of the accommodation and its location, with excellent links to the M90.”

Steven McInroy, Managing Director for SGM Contracts LLP, added: “With the growth of the company’s machinery servicing function pressing us to seek larger premises, we were keen to maintain our position in Belleknowes. Our relocation to Unit 16 will enable us to continue to grow and expand whilst retaining a prominent location to headquarter our business.”
