Beltane and Angelo Gordon start construction at 55 Gresham Street

Cushman & Wakefield and JLL appointed leasing agents

LONDON, 28 February 2017 - Beltane Asset Management and Angelo Gordon have appointed ISG to commence construction works at 55 Gresham Street, London EC2.

The stunning new City of London office development will provide 121,000 sq ft of grade A office accommodation delivered to the market in Q2 2018.

The building has been intricately designed by Fletcher Priest Architects and will provide floors plates of circa 13,000 sq ft over nine floors, including an elegant glass pavilion and a 3,500 sq ft rooftop terrace. The space will provide panoramic views of St Paul’s to the west and the tower cluster to the east.

Luke Ritson of Fletcher Priest said “In designing the building we have drawn inspiration from both the immediate built context and the wider history of the site. Inset panels, set within the elegant stone framework and crafted from metal and glass reference the neighbouring Guildhall typifying the history of craftsmanship in this part of London.”

Duncan Roe of Beltane said “In close partnership with the City of London, we have managed to substantially increase the floor area by adding two new storeys and extending the existing structural frame. 55 Gresham Street will be a striking addition to one of the oldest and best recognised addresses in the City, appealing to a wide range of occupiers seeking flexible and contemporary space in central London.”

Alistair Brown of Cushman & Wakefield and Dan Burn of JLL said “The decision to progress with 55 Gresham Street further reinforces confidence in the London market following exceptional take up in Q4 2016 when occupiers committed to 3.3 million sq ft. This was the highest level of take up since Q2 2015.”

The leasing agents are Cushman & Wakefield and JLL.
