Two new recruits for JLL’s growing EMEA Data Centres team

January 18th 2016 – JLL has added two new members to its growing data centres team, a year after it was established.

Martin Miklosko and Darren Hill have joined the team as Director and Associate Director respectively, bringing a wealth of experience across the data centre market and will be working across the EMEA region.

Martin joins from CBRE where he was Head of the Data Centre Valuation team and was responsible for valuing in excess of £5.5bn of data centre real estate on an annual basis across Europe and Asia Pacific. Providing valuation and strategic consultancy, Martin has experience working with occupational and investment brokerage teams offering professional advisory to the largest global data centre owners, operators and investors, as well as their funding partners.

Darren also joins from CBRE where he worked as a Senior Surveyor in tenant representation and investment in the Data Centre team. Darren has worked extensively across the EMEA region providing advice to owners, occupiers and investors of data centres.

JLL’s EMEA data centres team provides acquisition, investment, funding and debt, M&A and advisory services to meet clients’ requirements.

The growth of the team reflects the strengthening market and growing demand for expert advice in the sector. In 2016, investment transaction volumes reached £400m compared to £180m in 2015 with colocation take up topping 100MW IT load across the region.

Martin Carroll, Head of JLL’s Data Centres team, commented: “Martin and Darren joining the team further strengthens our knowledge, expertise and position in the market. Coupled with our dedicated teams in Asia and the Americas we provide our global clients with market leading advisory services across the world in what is a critical aspect of any occupier portfolio. As the investment class matures and M&A activity continues to grow we are well positioned to achieve our clients ambitions.”
