JLL advise on sale of development site for 50,000 sq ft self storage facility

3rd October 2016 - JLL has sold a development site in Hampton Court to The Self Storage Company, who will construct a new state of the art self storage facility totalling approximately 50,000 sq ft.

Tom Caines, in JLL's Alternatives team, commented “This sale demonstrates the continued demand for well-located self storage development sites. With London’s population forecast to grow to near 10 million within a decade, and the average 1 bedroom flat decreasing to 47 sq. m. in size, we only expect to see the rise in this trend.

“We are also seeing heightened demand in the market for both freehold and long leasehold sites in strategic regional locations. We are working hard to find new development opportunities for operators across the UK.”

Emil Sohrab, CEO of The Self Storage Company, added: "We are very pleased to have concluded the purchase of 61 Central Avenue, which will provide us with an additional purpose built facility. We are also developing a site at Apex Corner in London and hope to announce new openings soon.”
