JLL's Leeds team conquers Yorkshire Three Peaks raising £9.5K for Wakefield Hospice

Leeds, 20 September 2016 - A 57- strong team from the Leeds office of property consultants JLL successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge raising nearly £9,500 for Wakefield Hospice.

The team took on the gruelling 24-mile walk in memory of their colleague, Wendy Nash, who sadly lost her courageous battle with cancer earlier this year. Wakefield Hospice cared for Wendy and supported her family towards the end of her illness.

Henry Burton from JLL's Leeds office, who organised the charity walk, said: “Despite temperamental weather conditions ranging from sunshine to hail storms and everything in-between it was fantastic that so many of walked together to remember Wendy and fundraise for Wakefield Hospice, a charity very close to all our hearts. We are delighted to have raised nearly £9,500 for such a deserving charity - we know first-hand that Wakefield Hospice will use every penny to benefit their patients and relatives.”

Fiona Day, Events Fundraiser from Wakefield Hospice, added: “We are grateful to the JLL staff who took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and their colleagues, family and friends who sponsored them so generously. The amount raised will pay to run Wakefield Hospice for a day, during which time our team provide medical, practical and emotional care for patients and their families through a very difficult time in their lives.”

Wakefield Hospice, a registered charity, is committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illness.
The Hospice endorses a holistic approach in promoting quality of life for patients as well as in the continuing support that is offered to families and carers throughout the period of illness and into bereavement.
