Heather in the running for RICS Matrics young surveyor award

​Manchester, 8 September 2016 - Heather Muddiman, surveyor in JLL’s Planning & Development team in Manchester has been shortlisted for the 2016 RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards.

The annual awards aim to raise awareness and reward young inspirational role models in the land, property and construction sectors. Surveyors from across the UK, aged 35 and under have been nominated, with a shortlist of 78 drawn up to in with a chance of being crowned ‘Young Surveyor of the Year' in their respective sector or specialism.

Heather took a non-cognate route to qualify as Surveyor at JLL last autumn. She joined our Manchester team as a PA having expressed a desire to become a qualified Chartered Surveyor from the onset. Encouraged by colleagues and supported by the company she undertook a two year distance learning course to gain a Masters in Real Estate Development and Property Management at Salford University (for which was also awarded the top student prize for her year).

Navigating a very challenging route into the property industry demonstrates her drive, determination and ambition. Completing her Masters, coupled with her day job as well as her extra-circular activities including being involved with the RICS Matrics in the North West no mean feat. We delighted her achievements and talent has been recognised more widely with the news she has been shortlisted for this award.”

The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony at the newly developed Hilton Bankside in London on 18 November.
