JLL retail management team scoops award haul at the SCEPTRE awards

JLL’s retail management team won 4 categories and came runner up in 4 at last night’s SCEPTRE awards which are designed to recognise the best practice and best people across the shopping centre industry.

Marketing manager of the year was picked up by Anna Chrystal for her work at Golden Square, Warrington following her delivery of a marketing strategy targeting customer demographics. This has led to an increase in footfall, sales and dwell time.

Joseph Jagger was named as winner in the retail management liaison category for his work on staff training and performance reporting at the Bentall Centre. His insight has also helped to deliver marketing insight to direct future campaigns.

Carol Wakelin at the Queensgate Centre also won the gong for best energy management. This was as a result of a drive to engage centre tenants on the importance of energy reduction which resulted in a dramatic fall in energy use- enough to power 1063 homes in a year.

Mike Sorhaindo’s work delivering a £4million refurbishment and brand change for Sailmakers shopping centre with only one part-time staff member was also recognised. He was crowned small centre manager of the year.

JLL runners up were:

Rachel Moss was named runner up for Retail Liaison Management, Festival Place
Morag Dennis - Operations Manager, Overgate Centre
Justin Patel - Waste Management, Mermaid Quay
JLL - Highly Commended in the SCEPTER Grand Prix

Lucy Oldham, Director in JLL’s Retail Management team, commented: “It’s fantastic to be honoured by the industry for our work in and across different areas of management. We are proud of always being at the cutting edge of retail knowledge and insight and understanding our client’s needs.”
