Skeleton Olympic Gold medallist Lizzy Yarnold visited JLL to talk about her experiences as an athlete and the importance of self-belief and mental strength in achieving life goals.

Lizzy talked about the development of her career and how her ambition to  be an Olympic athlete started at school. Her training to become a Skeleton champion started on an X-Factor style programme designed to get more women into less well known sports and included a spell at Sandhurst.

She discussed the vital role that mental focus played in her ability to win every major title in her sport of Skeleton in 407 days. She also explained the importance that setting goals and having a determined mind set have had in achieving her dreams.

Helen Gough, chair of JLL's Women's Network, who organised the event, said: "The world of sport is a lot like business: Training, hard work, competition, dedication, success and failure all form part of the job. With such a string of impressive achievements, Lizzy offered great insights into the world of women's sport which excited and inspired female as well as male employees."
