JLL acts as lead financial advisors in the disposal of 177MW Dorenell wind farm project to EDF Energy Renewables

One of the largest planned windfarms in Scotland

LONDON, 12th November, 2015 - JLL’s Renewable Energy Capital team has acted as lead financial advisors to renewable energy firm Infinergy in the disposal of Dorenell wind farm to EDF Energy Renewables.

Dorenell wind farm near has been developed by Infinergy and approval for a 59-turbine wind farm was authorised by Scottish Ministers in 2011. Applications for a redesign of the currently consented project have been submitted to boost the amount of renewable electricity produced from the site. EDF Energy Renewables will be working alongside Infinergy to further develop the onshore project which could provide electricity for around 138,000 homes making it one of the largest wind farms in Scotland.

Dane Wilkins, head of Renewable Energy Capital, JLL, said: “The successful funding of Dorenell which safeguards a further 200MW of renewable energy to meet the UK’s energy demands ahead of 2020 is an early Christmas present for David Cameron as he prepares to face the world’s leaders at the conference on climate change in Paris. The bow on top of this gift wrapped conversation piece is proof that despite the dark clouds rolling over our industry, international sources of capital are willing to weather the storm and it is a tangible demonstration that the CfD is of investment grade.”

Richard Harris, associate director, Renewable Energy Capital, JLL, added: “It is fantastic to have completed the first disposal of a CfD awarded onshore wind project. Dorenell has been an exciting but challenging project to navigate through given new government legislation. The successful completion of the transaction is a credit to Infinergy, EDF Energy Renewables and all those involved.”
