Plans for hotel and spa on site already approved

JULY 6, 2015, EXETER – Truro’s Grade II listed Old County Hall has been put up for sale, with offers in excess of £3 million being sought.

JLL’s Hotels and Hospitality Group and Stephen Page associates have been jointly appointed to sell the property.

Truro Old County HallUndoubtedly one of the finest Grade II listed buildings in the county with enormous historical interest; the Old County Hall is centrally located a short walk from both the mainline railway station and the city centre.

Planning was approved in 2013 for the development of a 41-bedroom hotel and spa with adjoining 23 hotel bedroom/suites and independent residential scheme of 12 apartments and two houses.

Michael Easton for JLL said: “The sale of The Old County Hall development couldn’t have come at a better time for Truro. Close to the railway station and within easy walking distance of the city, Truro desperately needs more quality hotel bedrooms, and one that will have stunning spa and function facilities, a brasserie and feature debating chamber bar can only enhance the growing reputation of Cornwall’s capital.

“The additional residential apartments and long stay studios are a real bonus that add to the appeal of this unique and impressive listed building as an outstanding business opportunity.”
The property is available by way of informal tender and a set date for all offers will follow.
