Refurbishment of Microsoft HQ Reading wins Fit Out of Workplace Award

Jones Lang LaSalle advised on Microsoft Project Edison


​London,  1st May 2013 – Microsoft UK Headquarters at Thames Valley Park, Reading was presented with the ‘recycled/refurbished workplace category’ award for the South West, Thames Valley and South Wales regions at the British Council of Offices (BCO) Regional Dinner 2013 on the 25th April 2013.

Entitled, Microsoft Project Edison the project introducing a fresh look to the campus, together with state of the art audio visual and IT facilities. This has enabled Microsoft to promote its brand and products and unified the campus buildings.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services team undertook the year long project management commission for the multi-million pound refurbishment project. Jones Lang LaSalle was responsible for the selection of the team, overseeing the design development and delivery of the phased works.

Edward Gregg, Director for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services team, said: “We are very pleased that Microsoft Project Edison won this award. The project is a great reflection of Microsoft’s vision for the future and deserves recognition. Delivery was challenging as the campus needed to remain operational throughout the works, however this was overcome through careful planning that helped contribute to the project’s success.”

Microsoft Project Edison will now qualify for the national BCO awards to be held in the autumn.
