JLL UK Retail comments on Morrisons results 

In response to Morrisons trading figures announcement, Tim Vallance, Head of JLL UK Retail, commented: “The latest figures and store closures do make grim reading for Morrisons, however the firm should look to Tesco as an example of how things can change. Under Dave Lewis, who has announced the closure of stores and a focus on the core business, Tesco is doing better than it has been for 18 months.  Being more selective on the sites they choose for development and ensuring that they are in the best locations for customer catchment and convenience will be all important for Morrisons. The challenge for new CEO David Potts will also be to expand the store’s loyal Northern consumer base south.”
