Manchester, 16th February – Joint agents JLL and Canning O’Neill have let the second floor of Manchester city centre’s Fountain House on behalf of British Steel Pension Fund (BSPF).

Engineering firm Laing O’Rourke has agreed a lease for the second floor, occupying 2,162 sq ft at the six-storey office building on Fountain Street which is to be used as an administrative office during the redevelopment programme for 2 St Peters Square.

The 12,700 sq ft refurbished building includes basement car parking and is home to businesses including chartered accountants Corinthian Tax and insolvency practitioners Unity Corporation.

Richard Wharton, office agency director at JLL, said: “Fountain House is comprised of a range of different sized units all refurbished to a high standard, giving the scheme broad appeal with different occupiers seeking city centre space.

“The trend for urbanisation is driving more businesses to move into city centres, and Manchester is no different – with a booming population, attracted by its thriving culture, its talent pool is rapidly growing and as such there is high demand for office accommodation in the city.”
