JLL structure partnership deal between Central Working and British Land

Launch of new start-up co-working space next to Liverpool Street station

London, 6th February 2015 - JLL has structured a partnership deal on behalf of Central Working, a membership-based club for start-ups and real estate firm British Land to launch a new shared working community next to Liverpool Street station.

In a bid to appeal to entrepreneurs currently priced out of the City, the ten year deal will provide 11,000 sq ft of office space across four floors at 4 Crown Place providing club members access to shared work spaces, meeting rooms, permanent offices and outdoor space as well as the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals.

This represents the fifth workspace in Central Working’s portfolio and has gained interest from the Start Up Institute. Central Working members already include Microsoft Ventures, Kano and Hootsuite. JLL’s Corporate Capital Markets team and City Agency worked together to create an innovative lease structure which works for both parties.

Michael Evans, director in Corporate Capital Markets, said
“We’re delighted to enable the growth of Central Working and its members by developing a structure that creates a variable cost base which flexes on the success of the club, whilst British Land can take advantage of the “buzz” that Central Working will bring to Crown Place as well as sharing in the success of the club.”
