Edinburgh, 8 May 2013 - Jarvie Plant Group Ltd, Central Scotland's leading independent plant, cabin and vehicle hire specialist, has set its sights on growth with the purchase of a new Edinburgh depot at 11a Bankhead Crossway North, Sighthill.
The Grangemouth-based firm, whose current Edinburgh depot is in Leith, has bought the 1.05 acre industrial premises on Sighthill Industrial Estate for £740,000, in a deal secured by Jones Lang LaSalle. Providing the business with room to expand its Edinburgh operations, the new site includes a two storey modern office block as well as a seven bay car repair workshop and a secure external yard. Ten employees will shortly transfer to the new site and works to adapt the premises for the new occupier are now complete.
Established in 1960, Jarvie Plant Group Ltd operates throughout central Scotland from six depots in Grangemouth, Glasgow, Cowdenbeath, Irvine, Paisley and Edinburgh. As well as plant hire, the company operates vehicle and mobile accommodation rental divisions.
Located in close proximity to Edinburgh city bypass and the M8, Sighthill Industrial Estate is one of Edinburgh’s most sought after industrial locations. Other firms located nearby on the estate include Edinburgh Audi, Evans Halshaw, Western Toyota, Arnold Clark and a mix of other occupiers including Plumbstore, Rentokil and Howden Joinery.

We have upgraded the site to support our operations and are holding an open day for our customers and other stakeholders on the 24th May where we will have a number of machines/ vehicles on display and to trial”.

Jones Lang LaSalle is now marketing Jarvie Plant Group’s current premises at 2a Craigentinny Avenue North, which is available for sale. The unit includes 7,212 sq ft of workshop and office space in a secure 0.46 acre compound and sits in close proximity to the A1 and Edinburgh City Bypass, approximately three miles from the city centre.
