Go ahead for 77,930 sq ft mixed use development in Nottingham

The planning team at property consultant JLL has secured permission on behalf of Davidsons Developments.

Manchester, January 2015 – The planning team at property consultant JLL has secured permission for a mixed use development in Nottingham city centre on behalf of Davidsons Developments.

The plans include a 43,001 sq ft retail unit for home furnishings retailer Dunelm, a 13,810 sq ft office unit and a 21,118 sq ft showroom for a prestige car brand. Construction is set to begin in April 2015.

The site had previous planning consent for a large office development over the 77,930 sq ft site, eventually considered unviable given Nottingham’s capacity of office space.

Joanna Gabrilatsou, planning and development director at JLL in Manchester, said: “The scheme’s development will allow Dunelm to relocate its Nottingham store to a modern, fit for purpose unit in the city’s southern gateway.

“We worked closely with Nottingham-based consultant Fisher Hargreaves Proctor on this scheme and its approval is great news for the city allowing a brownfield site to be put to good use and redeveloped to the highest design standards..”
The architect is Stephen George and Partners and the project managers are Benchmark Property.
