JLL today confirms that its Head of Sustainability, Julie Hirigoyen, has been appointed as CEO of the UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC).

Guy Grainger, CEO JLL UK said: “Whilst it will be sad to see Julie leave JLL we are very proud that the UK-GBC recognised the role she played in ensuring JLL’s leadership position in the UK industry, and the foundations are in place for this to be sustained long into the future. JLL is a Founding member of UK-GBC which plays a crucial role in enabling the sustainability of the built environment, an ambition at the very heart of JLL’s own business strategy.”

Julie Hirigoyen, UK Head of Sustainability said: “I am very proud to have been a part of JLL’s sustainability journey since 2007, and to have played a part in making it the most sustainable property advisor in the UK. JLL has made significant progress over recent years, providing market-leading sustainability advice via the Upstream team, and embedding sustainability into all of our business lines and operations.

“I’m also looking forward to continuing to create value for JLL, this time as a founding member of UK-GBC, and to draw upon the expertise and best practice that is now well embedded across the firm.”

It is in every member and the wider industry’s best interests for UK-GBC to be successful in its campaign, and to bring greater clarity and consistency to the sustainability agenda in UK property.
