JLL UK Retail retained by Virgin Holidays to open new high street stores

Virgin to develop innovative concept stores

London, 1st December 2014- JLL’s retailer services team has been instructed by Virgin Holidays to open a collection of new high street stores across the UK. Modelled on their popular 'v-room' departure lounges (exclusively for Virgin Holidays customers departing from London Gatwick or Manchester airports), the stores will feature a range of experiential, digital and design elements designed to immerse customers in the brand and extend the customer journey right to the point of purchase.

Virgin currently trade from over 100 concessions in House of Fraser and Debenhams, are represented in numerous Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets and have two existing standalone stores in Kensington High Street and Meadowhall, Sheffield.

JLL has been instructed to help Virgin Holidays open new stores in eight major regional centres across the UK next year.

Damian Sumner, Head of Retail Agency at JLL commented: “This is an exciting time for Virgin Holidays as they look not only to expand but also to develop new concepts. The new stores will aim to harness the ‘holiday’ feeling through imagery and digital screens with exotic destination images and will further bring the Virgin Holidays promise to life. Service offering is pivotal in today’s increasingly virtual world and in the UK we are seeing that the real winners are those retailers that provide a seamless multichannel retail offer, combining the best of both the physical and the virtual worlds. We are looking forward to helping Virgin achieve this.”

Lee Haslett, Virgin Holidays' Director of Sales Trading, said: "These 'v-rooms on the High Street' will give our customers the chance to start getting excited about their holiday months before they depart. By combining digital and experiential, coupled with our award-winning service, we'll be looking to create relaxing yet vibrant spaces which will inspire them as they research their options or build up their holiday plans."
